　　1.先行詞表示時(shí)間、地點(diǎn)、原因,但關(guān)系詞指代先行詞在定語從句中充當(dāng)主語或賓語時(shí),應(yīng)用關(guān)系代詞that或which。如:

　　I’ll never forget 1976 that / which was full of sadness.

　　(作主語)

　　我不會(huì)忘記充滿悲哀的1976年。

　　I regret the days (that/which) I wasted in the woods.

　　(作賓語)

　　我后悔在森林里虛度的日子。

　　This is the factory that/which produces cars. (作主語)

　　這就是那個(gè)生產(chǎn)小汽車的工廠。

　　This is the factory (that/which) he visited yesterday.

　　(作賓語)

　　這就是他昨天參觀的工廠。

　　This is the reason that/which is unreasonable. (作主語)

　　這是一個(gè)沒道理的理由。

　　This is the reason (that/which) he raised. (作賓語)

　　這是他提出的理由。

　　2. 關(guān)系副詞有時(shí)相當(dāng)于 “適當(dāng)?shù)慕樵~+關(guān)系代詞”。如:

　　① where=in/on which

　　This is the room where / in which he lives.

　　這就是他住的房間。

　　I can see the desk where / on which there is a book.

　　我能看見上面有一本書的那張桌子。

　　② when= on/in/at which

　　I still remember the year when/ in which I joined the Party. 我仍然記得入黨的那一年。

　　I still remember the day when/on which I joined the Party. 我仍然記得入黨的那一天。

　　I still remember the date when/at which I joined the Party. 我仍然記得入黨的那個(gè)日子。

　�、� why=for which

　　This is the reason why / for which he was killed.

　　這是他被殺害的原因。

　　3. 當(dāng)先行詞為time表示 “次數(shù)”時(shí),常用關(guān)系詞that或省去關(guān)系詞,而不用when來引導(dǎo)定語從句。如:

　　This is the first/last time that I shall give you a lesson.

　　這是我第一次/最后一次給你們上課。

　　4. 當(dāng)point, situation等詞作先行詞表抽象的地點(diǎn),其后常由where引導(dǎo)定語從句, where在定語從句中作地點(diǎn)狀語。

　　Can you think out a situation where this word can be used? 你能設(shè)想這個(gè)單詞被使用的場(chǎng)合嗎?

　　Her illness has developed to the point where nobody can cure her. 她的病發(fā)展到?jīng)]人能治的地步。
