　　Well在口語中的用法

　　Well是交際英語中一個(gè)十分常用的語氣輔助詞，其主要用法大致可歸納為：

　　1. 表示驚訝，意為：啊、咳、嘿。如：

　　Well， you‘ve grown. 唷，你長(zhǎng)高了。

　　Well， who would have thought it? 啊，誰會(huì)想到是這樣呢?

　　2. 表示快慰，意為：好啦。如：

　　Well， that‘s over. 好啦，搞完啦。

　　Well， here we are at last. 好啦，我們終于到了。

　　3. 表示讓步，意為：好吧。如：

　　Well， perhaps you‘re right. 好吧，也許你是對(duì)的。

　　Well， it may be true. But I find it difficult to believe. 好吧，這也許是真的，不過叫我難以相信。

　　4. 表示無可奈何，意為：唉。如：

　　Well， it can‘t be helped. 唉，這是沒辦法的事。

　　Well， there‘s nothing we can do about it. 唉，我們無能為力了。

　　5. 表示期待，意為：嗯，喂。如：

　　Well， what happened next? 嗯，后來怎樣了?

　　Well then， who‘d like some coffee? 喂，誰想喝咖啡?

　　6. 表示疑問，意為：喂，怎么啦?

　　Well， who was it? 喂，你剛才講的是誰?

　　A:Will you do me a favour? 請(qǐng)幫我個(gè)忙好嗎?

　　B:Well? 怎么啦?

　　7. 表示同意或許諾，意為：好;好吧。如：

　　Well， all right， I agree. 好，我同意。

　　Well then， I‘ll call on you later. 好吧，我過一會(huì)兒來看你。

　　8. 表示講話結(jié)束，意為：好;好吧;那么。如：

　　Well， so much for today. See you next Monday. 好，今天就講到這里，下周星期一見。

　　Very well， then. We‘ll talk it over again tomorrow.

　　好，那我們就明天再討論吧。

　　9. 表示重新回到原來的話題，意為：哦;喔;噢;這個(gè)。如：

　　Well， as I was saying……噢，我剛才是說……

　　Well， the next day……哦，后來第二天……

　　10. 表示懷疑，意為：是嗎? 如：

　　Well， really? 真的嗎?

　　Well， I‘m not sure. 是嗎? 我沒把握。

　　11. 表示告訴對(duì)方一個(gè)新情況，意為：哦;我說;告訴你。如：

　　A:He speaks very good English. 他英語說得不錯(cuò)。

　　B:Well， he comes from London. 哦，他是倫敦人。

　　A:Are you going to Guangzhou? 你是要去廣州嗎?

　　B:Well，you see，I no longer work there. 哦，我已不在那兒工作了。

　　12. 表示要發(fā)表自己的看法，意為：嗯，哦。如：

　　A:What do you think of the film?你認(rèn)為這部電影怎么樣?

　　B:Well， I don‘t think it’s very interesting. 嗯，我認(rèn)為不是很有趣。

　　A:Do you like your new English teacher? 你喜歡你們新來的英語老師嗎?

　　B:Well， yes， he‘s very nice. 哦，喜歡，他很好。

　　13. 表示愉快地接受所發(fā)生的不愉快的事(常 oh 與連用)，意為：好。如：

　　Oh well，I can‘t complain; it was my own fault. 好，我沒什么可說的，這是我的錯(cuò)。

　　Oh well，don‘t blame it on him， but on me. 好，別怪他，該怪我。

　　14. 表示驚奇或感興趣(此時(shí)通常連用兩個(gè)或三個(gè)well)，意為：唉呀; 唉唷; 哦。如：

　　Well，so he‘s the general manager now， is he? 那么他現(xiàn)在已是總經(jīng)理了，是嗎?

　　Well，well，who‘d have thought he would say such things? 唉呀! 有誰會(huì)想到他會(huì)說那樣的話呢?

　　Well，well，well，I didn‘t think I’d see you here， Sue. 唉唷，我真沒想到會(huì)在這里見到你。
